One of our most commonly used products is our 25 MPa wall mix, designed for structural applications such as foundation walls and grade beams. This mix is easy to pump and provides the strength and durability needed for above-ground structural concrete. For projects requiring ground contact, such as piles and footings, many building codes call for sulfate-resistant concrete. This mix is specially formulated to withstand soil sulfates, ensuring long-term durability and structural integrity in challenging conditions.
For exterior flatwork such as driveways, sidewalks, steps, and garage floors, we supply a specially designed 32 MPa air-entrained concrete mix. This mix is engineered to handle the harsh freeze-thaw cycles common in Manitoba. The air entraining admixture creates a dense, high-strength concrete that resists scaling, cracking, and weather-related damage. Proper placement, finishing, and curing are important to ensure the best results and long-term durability.
Eastcrete also offers a basement floor mix designed to set quickly and reduce bleed water, allowing for a smoother and more consistent finish. For decorative applications, we provide specialty concrete mixes including colored concrete and exposed aggregate. These options are commonly used for patios, decks, curbs, steps, and other architectural or landscaping features where appearance is just as important as performance.
To meet the needs of different projects and job site conditions, Eastcrete stocks a wide range of concrete additives and admixtures. Water reducers and plasticizers help maintain a workable mix without adding extra water, which can weaken concrete and increase cracking. Accelerators can speed up the set time for time-sensitive pours or help concrete set properly in colder weather conditions.
Additional products include cure and seal compounds that help properly cure fresh concrete while protecting its surface and extending its lifespan. Evaporation retarders can be applied in hot or windy conditions to prevent the surface from drying too quickly, reducing the risk of dusting, scaling, and cracking. For industrial floors and heavy-use areas, we also offer hardeners that improve abrasion resistance and create a tougher, longer-lasting surface.
Eastcrete ReadyMix also provides fiber reinforcement options to improve the strength and durability of concrete. Micro fibers help control shrinkage cracking during curing by adding three-dimensional reinforcement that is nearly invisible in the finished product. Structural fibers offer additional reinforcement similar to rebar in certain applications, improving durability and helping reduce the risk of cracking over time.
